Let’s face it, we all take short cuts now and again. . We only have to look at how we drive now compared to when we were professionally trained. After time goes by, workers often lax on some of the safety measures they were taught when they first started to work for you.
A safety talk is a hands-on way to remind workers that health and safety is important on the job. Each talk can help workers recognize and control hazards at work and on a project. This helps in the prevention of work place safety accidents and aid in reducing the amount of tickets your company could receive from the Ministry of Labour.
Safety talks demonstrate the commitment of employers and workers to health and safety.
It’s a good idea to keep a log of all of your companies Safety Talks. Record the date, topic, and names of attendees so you know which safety talk should be requested next.
It’s up to you as a business owner to make sure your workers are following all of the health and safety measures set out by the Ministry of Labour in Ontario.
